Bright Sparks in Immunology is an important initiative to showcase the work of our outstanding early career researchers on an international stage. This exciting event combines competition with outstanding science.
The 2020 Bright Sparks event will take place on the morning of Tuesday 1 December, as an integral part of our ‘Connecting immunology in the time of COVID-19’ conference.
To take account of the digital nature of the conference, we have updated the Bright Sparks format from previous years. It is open to BSI members who are PhD students or early career postdocs (up to five years post PhD).
Abstracts can be submitted on any topic that has immunological relevance for both oral and poster presentation.
If your abstract is shortlisted, you will be invited to give a short oral presentation of your work during the Bright Sparks sessions on the morning of Tuesday 1 December. This presentation will be scored by a panel of judges. Abstract submissions not shortlisted for oral presentation in the Bright Sparks sessions will be automatically reviewed for poster presentation at the ‘Connecting immunology in the time of COVID-19’ conference.
All presenters in each oral session will receive a certificate and the winners from each session will receive a prize and be designated the ‘Bright Sparks in Immunology’ for 2020.
